Souvenir Plush for Zoos, Aquariums, Museums and City Gift Shops Your Own Character, Not a Licensed One

Ferpar produces souvenir plush for attractions that own their characters outright. Short runs across many designs, retail-compliant tagging that clears a gift-shop audit, and a production calendar built around your visitor season instead of ours.

Multi-design short runs Retail-compliant tagging Season-planned production EN71 / ASTM F963 tested Sewn-in care and origin labels

Pain points

What Attraction Buyers Run Into

  1. “Our character belongs to us, so there is no licensor to sign it off.”

But it still has to be recognisable to a visitor who has just met it on a signboard.

  2. “We need eight designs, three hundred each.”

A gift shop cannot take one design in five thousand units. Assortment is the whole point.

  3. “The tag has to survive a retail audit.”

Barcode, fibre content, country of origin and age grading, on a sewn-in label that lasts past the first wash.

  4. “Visitor numbers triple in July.”

Stock has to be on the shelf before the season opens, not arriving in the middle of it.

  5. “Cheap copies appear within one season.”

When the price floor is set by a knock-off, differentiation has to come from detail and consistency.

The brief we need

Which characters, how many of each, the retail price band and the month the season opens. The retail price band decides more about construction than any other single number.

How we solve it

Built for Assortment, Not for Volume

  • Minimums per design, not per order.

One purchase order can carry six or eight characters. The minimum applies to each design, so a small gift shop can still stock a full shelf.

  • Retail-compliant labelling.

Sewn-in care label, hang tag with barcode and price field, fibre content, country of origin and age grading. Files are supplied so your POS system can pick up the codes.

  • Season-planned production.

We work from your visitor curve: Easter, summer and Christmas windows. Bulk finishes before the season starts and the reorder lane stays open through it.

  • One sample per design, photographed.

Six designs means six samples. Each one is photographed on a plain background so a committee can approve them without a factory visit.

  • Detail that is expensive to copy.

Embroidery density, custom fabric and small props are the difference between a souvenir and a generic toy with your name on the tag.

Venue types

Four Kinds of Attraction We Supply

The tagging and the assortment differ; the production floor does not.

Venue 01

Zoo and aquarium shops.

Animal characters where recognition matters more than pose. Six to twelve SKUs per season, sized for a child to carry out of the gate.

Animal & Pet Plush

Venue 02

Museums and heritage sites.

Artefact and mascot characters with a story attached. Hang tags can carry a short interpretation line alongside the barcode.

Shaped & Novelty Plush

Venue 03

City tourism and CVB shops.

Landmark and mascot designs that work as gifts for visitors who will not return. Price band usually sits below the local souvenir average.

Keychains & Charms

Venue 04

Airport and duty-free.

Small, light, and packable. Keychains and 12–15 cm plush that fit a carry-on and clear customs paperwork without extra classification.

Plush Merchandise Overview

Minimums

How Assortment Affects the Order

Indicative starting points. A mixed order is priced design by design, not as an average.

Indicative minimum order quantities by souvenir format
Format Starting point
Plush keychain / bag charm (6–12 cm)100 pcs per design
Mini plush (12–15 cm)200 pcs per design
Shelf plush (20–25 cm)300 pcs per design
Mixed assortment, 6–8 designsMinimum applies per design, one PO
Sampling before order1 pc per design, charged and credited against bulk
Reorder of an approved designFrom 100 pcs, no new sampling

The number that usually decides the order is not the minimum — it is the retail price the shop can hold. Tell us that first and the construction follows from it.

FAQ

Souvenir Plush Questions

We are not a brand and we have no licence. Can you still work from our artwork?

Yes. Most attraction clients own the character outright. A style sheet, a photo of the mascot costume or a sketch is enough to start; we develop the pattern and send a sample.

What is the minimum if we want several designs?

100 pcs per design for keychains and mini plush, 300 pcs for shelf plush. The minimum applies to each design, and all designs can sit on one purchase order.

Can the hang tag carry our barcode and price?

Yes. We print what you supply, and we can hold a price field blank if the shop sets it locally. Sewn-in labels carry fibre content, origin and age grading.

Do you handle the safety testing for a children's product?

Yes. EN71-1/2/3 for Europe and ASTM F963 for the US, run on the pre-production sample. Reports are issued in the buyer's name when required.

How far ahead should we order for the summer season?

Twelve to sixteen weeks before the season opens for a new design; eight to ten for a reorder. Sampling is the part that most often eats the buffer.

Can you keep our character out of your portfolio?

Yes. Attraction characters are frequently unreleased. We sign an NDA before files are opened and do not publish the work without written permission.
