Ferpar Custom Plush Animal Manufacturer

OEM Animal Plush Toys Built Safe from the Fabric Up

We are a custom plush animal manufacturer with in-house pattern making, embroidery, sewing and QC. Children chew, hug and sleep with animal plush, so we treat material safety as the first spec, not the last check. Fabrics, dyes, filling and eyes are selected and documented before cutting begins.

We supply wholesale custom animal plush for retail lines, and we handle pet-likeness projects as a custom pet plush supplier factory. Send a sketch, photos or a reference sample.

Why Pet and Child Safety Drive Our Process

Material traceability

Each fabric lot is logged with dye reports. You get the test report with your order.

Eyes that stay on

Safety eyes are torque and tension tested. For under-3 products we embroider.

Fur likeness engineering

For pet plush we reproduce marking placement and pile direction on the pattern, not just the color.

Hidden-needle control

100% metal detection on finished pieces.

Clean stuffing

Filling is sealed-bag stored and weighed per unit, tolerance ±3%.

OEM Animal Plush: Fabric Weight, Testing and Vacuum Recovery

What buyers ask after the first container lands — GSM, test reports, and why the ears came out creased.

Own sampling room · 10+ years OEM · NDA before file review

Ask a production question
Which fabric weight holds a premium hand-feel after a year on the shelf?

For a 20 cm hand-size animal, 220–260 gsm short pile is the floor; below 180 gsm the backing shows at the seams and the pile crushes flat inside the polybag. A 30 cm retail piece wants 280–340 gsm minky or velboa, with 3–5 mm pile for print clarity and 8 mm+ only where faux-fur realism matters and pile direction has to be cut with the pattern.

Every quote ships with a swatch card stating gsm, pile height, backing and shrinkage. 'Soft' is not a spec anyone can inspect at the port.

Which tests does a EU or US retail launch actually require?

EU: EN 71-1 for mechanical hazards, EN 71-2 for flammability, EN 71-3 for heavy-metal migration, plus a CE declaration of conformity under the Toy Safety Directive. US: ASTM F963 and CPSIA, which adds substrate lead at 100 ppm and phthalates at 0.1%. Both markets also test age grading and labeling.

We test materials at lot level — fabric, dye, thread, filling — so the finished-goods report reflects a controlled input rather than a lucky batch, and it travels with the shipping documents instead of arriving after you ask. That habit comes from a decade of OEM work with EU importers who get audited, not sampled.

After 30 days compressed in a carton, will the plush come back to shape?

It depends on what is inside. 3D hollow siliconized PP recovers 92–96% of loft within 24–48 hours at room temperature; coarser 7D fibre takes 48–72 hours; shredded memory foam can need three days. We overfill 6–8% to absorb compression and quote 4:1 as standard — 5:1 only for small accessories where a crease will not read.

Two rules for your warehouse: never leave stock compressed beyond 90 days, because long-pile faux fur takes a permanent fold, and unbox upright at 18 °C or above rather than in a cold stockroom.

Our last batch failed a pull test on the nose. How do small parts get locked?

Every attached part is tested on the finished toy, not on a bench sample, to EN 71-1 and ASTM F963 limits — 70 N tension and 0.45 N·m torque. Safety eyes use locking washers seated behind a reinforced interlining patch; noses are embroidered or moulded with a through-bolt and washer. Anything that cannot pass is converted to embroidery at the pattern stage, and under-3 products are embroidered by default.

Metal detection closes the loop on broken needles, and one QC photo set per lot reaches you before packing.
